eCMAJ Today: health news you can use
Date: July 14, 1999
Time: 8:28 AM
The online edition of CMAJ is now publishing news reports throughout each weekday. eCMAJ Today will be written and updated regularly by news editors at the journal. The goal is to provide brief, timely articles on medicopolitical and clinical issues across the country.
"The big benefit is obvious — we can post a story within hours, and we're pretty sure the immediacy will appeal to a lot of CMAJ readers," said assistant news editor Steven Wharry, who will coordinate the new service. "This will be a new benefit for our readers and allows the journal to better capitalize on the Web's advantages."
The articles that appear will be written by staff at CMAJ, with some external contributions. The articles will also contain links to other sites so that readers can gather more detailed information.
Articles published in eCMAJ Today will seldom appear in the paper edition of the journal, although they may form the kernel of a longer, more analytic article. Therefore, this page will be your only access to this additional reporting. Please let us know what you think of it and how you'd like to see the service evolve.
