Young Radiologist Award for the year 2000 CAR FORUM 1999;43(5):6 A new award, the Young Radiologist Award, has been instituted by the CAR to recognize outstanding academic contributions to Canadian radiology. The new award should be regarded as equivalent to the CAR Gold Medal in standing. Process Nominations for this award may be made by any member of the Association to the secretarytreasurer before the semi-annual meeting; i.e., by February 2000. Nominations should be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae with contributions highlighted in order to assist the selection committee. Eligible nominees must have been in practice for 10 years or less. Nominations may be made at any time during the year. Selection committee A special selection committee will be convened. The chair will be the CAR president and there will be one member from elected members of Council as well as one member from the membership at large, with the names being presented by the nominating committee at the annual meeting. A committee conference regarding the award will be held before the semi-annual meeting with a view to drafting recommendations to the executive committee. The executive committee will be responsible for the final decision. Up to two medals will be awarded, with the names and contributions of successful recipients announced in the spring issue of the Forum and presentation of the award at the annual meeting.
