Review essays should discuss two or more books with a common theme, with a view to comparing and contrasting them, and to providing the reader with a context in which to interpret them, including the author's own viewpoint.
Specific Guidelines for Review Essays:
a. Length of review: normally between 1250 and 2500 words (though the upper limit is flexible).
b. The Review Essay should have a title that reflects the common theme. Information on the books themselves should follow this format:
Author/Editor's names.
Titles of the Books (italicized), edition (if applicable).
Places of publication: Publishers, dates of publication.
c. Your name will appear at the top of the review, under the book information.
d. A brief biographical line, usually identifying your university/professional affiliation and an e-mail address (optional), will appear at the end.
e. Method of submission: diskette or e-mail attachment (preferably Microsoft Word) to the Editor-in-Chief.
Topics of interest to The Innovation Journal relate to public sector innovation, creativity, change management, case studies (examples), strategies, tactics, definitions, processes, approaches to innovation, innovation theory and innovation dissemination theory. These could be discussed, for example, in the context of partnerships, citizen-centred delivery, restructuring, empowerment, and so on.
Format
a. Papers should be typed in Times New Roman 12-point, in WordPerfect 10 if possible, otherwise in msword, and should be submitted electronically to the Editor-in-Chief.
b. Please identify keywords under which your article should be indexed.
c. Please limit footnotes. If you use them, put them at the end as endnotes.
d. Reference to sources in the text should be placed in brackets and include last name of author, date of publication, and page number, namely: (Kroeker, 1996, p. 126). Sources should be done as follows:
